  • 2012 Doug FLutie BEAT AUTISM
LYNN, MA — Fans could not believe their ears and eyes Tuesday when the Fraser Field announcer blared "Now pitching for the U.S. Military All-Stars ... Doug Flutie." The disbelieving onlookers asked each other if this "Doug Flutie" was a son or a nephew or a military player with a similar name. The fans surmised that this could not be the legend connected nationally with Flutie Flakes, the Hail Mary Pass, the Drop-Kick as a Patriots quarterback, and the Heisman Trophy. No way. But it certainly was the Boston College legend, wearing his famous 22, and looking younger than a man turning 50 in October. There he was toeing the mound in Lynn under the lights about to face the power-packed Tom Yawkey League All-Stars from Boston.

  • 2012 Media Theatre Billboard
On June 7th the U.S. Military All-Stars will be the guests of honor at the premier of Ballfield to Battlefield and Back-- From FDR to JFK at the Media Theater on East State Street. The film is narrated by two former major league players -- George Case and Delaware County's own Mickey Vernon. Mickey and George are gone now, but through their eyes you can get a first-hand look at life in the big leagues from 1939-1962 by those that lived it. The movie exemplifies the American tradition of our sports heroes serving our nation both home and away featuring more than 80 of the more than 5,000 professional baseball players who left the baseball diamond to serve during WWII. That dedication to our American way of life has continued through Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. The historic tradition of changing from one uniform to another to serve a cause greater than one's self continues today with the U.S. Military All-Stars.

  • REVIEW: This is one of the best children's books I have ever owned. Great story line, relates well to children of any age. The pictures jump right off the page and help tell the story. Patriotic, fun, and a refreshing read... Should be on every child's bedtime story reading list. I am claiming it as a keep sake to be passed down from generation to generation. Everyone should own one. - Melissa Burman
